In the week of April 23-28, 2018, the Twentieth National Congress of Civil Engineering (XX CONIC) was held in the Daniel Alcides Carrión convention center located in the headquarters of the medical school of Lima in Miraflores. This event, organized by the College of Engineers of Peru, brought together researchers, engineers, professionals and students linked to this branch of engineering. The presentations that were presented were oriented in each of the following specialties: structures, geotechnics, hydraulics, transport and construction management. Presentations were presented at a high national and international level that touched on several issues related to the development of civil engineering in Peru, such as the development of anti-seismic structures and innovation of building materials, the national problem facing the Coastal Child of the summer of 2017 and its limited process of reconstruction, hydrology and feasibility studies for waterways in the Amazon rainforest, among others.
Within the framework of the project “Advancing and measuring consumption and sustainable production for a low carbon economy in middle-income economies and new industrialized countries”, IKI, funded by the UN Environment, and with MINAM supervision, presented a paper entitled ” Evaluation of life cycle inventories for the hydroelectric sector in Peru: Methodological considerations in Peru: Methodological considerations and environmental impacts “. In this presentation, the results of the evaluation of 2 hydroelectric plants with a power greater than 100 MW and a mini hydroelectric power plant with an installed power of less than 20 MW were presented, all of them located in the Andes Mountain Range in Peru.
