It is a research project funded by the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) and executed by the Peruvian Network Life Cycle. This project proposed the use of the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology with the objective of obtaining an integral and quantitative evaluation of the environmental loads related to the Pisco production cycle in the regions of Lima, Ica, Arequipa , Moquegua and Tacna. For this, the evaluation was made considering the stages of cultivation of the vineyards, grape harvest until bottling, and the distribution of the final product. The impact categories evaluated were: climate change, formation of particulate matter, potential eutrophication, terrestrial acidification, water depletion, and agricultural land occupation.
