This research proposal proposes the use of the holistic life cycle analysis tool to quantify and evaluate the present and future environmental impacts resulting from the expansion of informal mining in the Peruvian Amazon. The expansion of this activity will be explored through the creation of plausible future scenarios and georeferenced information tools. The proposal will focus, using the USEtox impact assessment methodology, on two relevant and poorly studied impact categories: freshwater ecotoxicity and human toxicity.
