Participation of the Peruvian Life Cycle Network in the Life Cycle Management Conference – LCM 2017

Between September 4 and 6, 2017, the conference “Life Cycle Management 2017”, a world reference in industrial ecology, was held in the city of Luxembourg, in which Professor Ian Vázquez Rowe participated.

Professor Vázquez had an oral presentation and led one of the conference sessions as president. In the first one, entitled “Consequential Life Cycle Assessment of pisco production in the Ica Valley, Peru”, the latest advances of the ECOPISCO project were presented, in which the indirect consequences of the expansion of pisco grape production in the Peruvian coast. In the second, Professor Vázquez led, together with the Colombian doctor Valentina Prado, professor at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands, the session entitled “Trends in life cycle thinking in regional development: methodological advances and challenges for the future”, in which several papers analyzed the opportunities to apply life cycle methodologies for regional development in the different continents, with special emphasis on the prevention of risk and vulnerability.

Finally, the participation of the RPCV was completed with the presentation of a scientific poster on the implementation of electric vehicles in the city of Lima, in which professors Ramzy Kahhat and Ian Vázquez are co-authors.

LCM 2017 is a biannual event that takes place in different countries of the world. On this occasion, the barrier of 700 attendees from all continents was exceeded. The next edition of LCM, in 2019, will be held in the city of Poznan (Poland).
